What a wonderful start to our Yorkshire & Humber regional events! 🎉

Yesterday, School Business Manager (UK), True North School Business and Ed Fairfield from Elementary Technology came together for our first regional full-day workshop.

As the Yorkshire & Humber Lead for SBM UK, it was lovely to meet colleagues, hear their experiences and create space for supportive conversations about the challenges and opportunities in school business leadership.

The feedback was hugely encouraging, with top scores of 5 across all five areas:

✅ Clear explanations and workshop information
✅ Activities and discussions that supported learning
✅ Practical steps to take back to school

That final point means so much to me. My intention is always to help colleagues turn learning into practical action, with support and encouragement along the way.

It was especially rewarding to hear how warmly the values behind the day were received: putting people first, supporting one another and giving back to the profession.

Our next joint event will be in February, with the date to be confirmed. Planning has already begun!
